Jikan

People often mistake Jikan for a riff on Samurai Jack. I can honestly say I've never seen an episode and actually had to Google it to see how alike they were - it just goes to show there are no original ideas! My actual inspiration for Jikan were the Hammer film Captain Kronos and Father Shandor in Warrior. Kronos was meant to be the first of a series of films (Kronos is Greek for time) with the good captain fighting evil through time. Shandor lasted for twenty episodes in Warrior before his finale (I know there have been further pieces in A1 magazine, but the story really should have ended in Warrior - it was such a good solid finish) Jikan (which is actually the Japanese word for time) has had two books of adventures published with a total of twenty episodes within their pages( already equalling it's inspiration!), with another set of adventures in the planning stages; the above frame is by Matt Soffe from Stowaway by Dirk Van Dom which will be in Book Three and we have a new webstory starting next month! Not only that, but writers are beavering away on further stories and wheels are in motion as far ahead as Book Five. Oh yes, Jikan has a long journey - yet a finite one - ahead of him...
